The book has been widely praised for helping the broader church better understand rural culture and for challenging common assumptions about ministry success.

In addition to The Forgotten Church, Glenn has authored numerous influential works focused on small‑church leadership and pastoral life, including Leading the Small Church, Developing Leaders for the Small Church, When Shepherds Weep, Shepherding the Small Church, and The Lighthouse, a devotional exploring the attributes of God. His writing blends theological clarity with practical wisdom drawn from decades of hands‑on ministry.

Biography
Raised on a farm in northern Idaho, Glenn’s rural upbringing profoundly shaped both his faith and his calling. Life in small communities taught him the value of hard work, deep relationships, and quiet faithfulness—values that continue to inform his preaching, leadership, and writing today. He understands rural life not as an observer, but as someone who has lived it, worked it, and loved it.
Because of this background, Glenn has a particular heart for country people—for pastors who serve faithfully in out‑of‑the‑way places, for churches that rarely make headlines, and for communities where relationships matter more than programs. He believes rural churches are not “smaller versions” of urban churches, but uniquely positioned expressions of the body of Christ with distinctive strengths and gospel impact.
Glenn and his wife Becky have been married since 1986 and enjoy family life, working on the family farm, photography, woodworking, and life in the Pacific Northwest.

Beyond the local church, Glenn currently serves as a leader with the Village Missions National Board of Directors. He has taught as an adjunct professor and spoken nationally and internationally on small‑church and rural ministry. Whether writing, teaching, or pastoring, his passion remains the same: to strengthen local churches and encourage faithful servants in the places that are too often forgotten.
